CDM FOCUS will identify invalid or inappropriate CPT/HCPCS codes, missing charges, areas of non-compliance with CMS regulations and a myriad of other coding and reimbursement issues. As a CDM FOCUS user you can periodically process your chargemaster to compliance as coding rules and reimbursement regulations change and as updates are made to your chargemaster. You will also receive alerts online and via email when coding or reimbursement rule changes are made.

COME VISIT US HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition CDM FOCUS UPDATED FOR JAN 1, 2004 CODE CHANGES: CDM FOCUS has recently been updated with the CMS Outpatient Prospective Payment Systems (OPPS) CY 2004 changes, as well as the CPT/HCPCS changes that are effective as of January 1, 2004. Many new reports have been added for CDM Focus subscribers. “New 2004 Codes” and “Modified 2004 Codes” are just a few of the new reports added. The new reports will provide data that is effective January 1, 2004. Log in to find out more. In the final rule, CMS has added over 125 new codes that will be paid under APCs in 2004, and a number of other codes for “packaged services”. Also included in the final rule are over 250 deleted codes for 2004, 17 of which do not allow for a 90-day compliance grace period. There have been two (2) new status indicators added for 2004 as well. The category “C” codes for devices/supplies have been reinstated but now have an “N” status indicator. Two (2) pass through device categories have been deleted and one (1) has been added. The new threshold of $50 (lowered from $150 in 2003) for separately payable drugs has contributed to the increase in the number of APCs. Pharmacy departments need to get on board to ensure that all of these drugs are coded appropriately in order to receive the correct reimbursement. Updating your chargemaster in a timely fashion with these new updates is essential to submitting complete and accurate claims.
